Jubilate Bell Choir
History: Many people don't realize it but handbells are actually what "change ringers" used to practice outside their towers. You didn't want to bother the whole town by practicing your peal so you would ring small versions of the bells found in the bell tower. At the turn of the 20th century, Handbells were brought over to the United States. Their popularity has slowly grown since their introduction and now many churches own their own set of bells and use the Bell Choir as an integral part of Sunday Morning Worship. Only a limited understanding of music and rhythm is needed to participate. If you are looking to become more involved with music but are not sure how, bells are a great place to start.
The Jubilate Bell Choir Meets on Scheduled Sundays after Church (approx. 10:45-11:30). The bell rehearsals are listed below. If you are interested in joining, please contact our Music Director Jim Davidson.
