The Social principles of The United Methodist Church are a call to a “prayerful, studied dialogue of faith and practice.” They are the statement of our church about social issues and focus on the areas of the Natural World, the Nurturing Community, the Social Community, the Economic Community, the Political Community, and the World Community. In the weeks leading up to Pentecost we studied these principals and were encouraged to discover and give expression to our own beliefs and personal creeds. Below are some examples of our personal creeds.
| I believe in God - an overarching Spirit who gives the gift of life, with a body; and a soul which continues to seek union with its Creator. I believe that the Spirit of The Divine continues to dwell within us, ever present, sustaining and nurturing; urging us toward wholeness in our physical body on earth and continuing in our Spirit self after death. I believe this Divine Spirit supports us in our search for justice and truth, shows mercy when we fail and forgives us when we admit our shortcomings. I believe the only appropriate response to this generous Spirit must be: To show love and support to each human on earth and to also respect all creation.

This I believe: God is the power of incredible love, ever present, continuously creating the world with us and through us. Jesus is my chosen teacher; God in us fully realized. The Holy Spirit is God's continuous presence in my life. I join with those who seek to bring love to all situations to create peace and justice for the sustainment of all life... By encountering God in everything; continually discovering beauty; and living fully and presently in each moment.
