4F

4F began many years ago with a small group of families who met Friday nights in the Martha Room for Food, Fun and Friendship. If those sorts of words speak to you, you will have some idea of what 4F is all about. We still try to meet on the third Friday evening of each month, October through July, but this sometimes changes depending on what activity is planned.

“Food” has always been a part of our get-togethers. We’ve had Men’s Potlucks, Pizza before an OSU sport event, and soup suppers at our annual Christmas White Elephant party. As to the “Fun” there are trips to various attractions around the valley: Wooden Shoe Tulip farm, the Carousel in Albany, and a picnic lunch at Fort Hoskins with a talk about the history of the place—these are just a few of the outings we have available. An annual Game Night is a favorite, as is attending a local theater production. Packing kits for Hurricane Katrina, collecting socks and hats for the homeless, and donating to Room at the Inn are ways we reach out to others in our community and world.

Perhaps the primary focus of 4F is Friendship. This is a great group to join if you are looking for a way to get to know people in the church better. If you have further questions please contact us.
